Dear KEPPO family.
저희는 한국에 있는 (사)해외동포책보내기운동협의회와 MOU를 체결하고 팬데믹으로 한국어책을 구하는 데 어려움을 겪는 미주 내 학생들을 위해 책을 기증받아 나누는 행사를 기획했습니다.
We signed an agreement with the 'Campaign Center of Book Supplying for Oversea Koreans' in Korea and organized an event to share donated books for students in the Americas who are having difficulty finding Korean books with Pandemic.
지난 6월 9일(한국시간 기준) 책 발송식을 가지고 본격적인 책 나누기 일정을 시작했으며, 모든 정식 통관 절차를 거쳐 한국에서 도착한 도서 1차분을 7월 8일(미국시간 기준) 수령했습니다.
On June 9th (Korea time), the book distribution journey began and we received the first book from Korea after all custom clearance process on July 8th.
현재 한국어책을 구하기 어렵다는 많은 학부모님들의 요청으로 최대한 빨리 분류 작업을 마친 후, 개방된 넓은 공간을 빌려 책 나눔 행사를 하려고 계획하였으나 캘리포니아의 COVID-19상황이 악화되고 있는 관계로KEPPO.ORG 사이트를 통한 책 나눔만 시작하기로 결정했습니다.
With the request of many parents who are currently unable to obtain Korean books, we had planned to share books at the wide-open space area to share books after completing the classification process. However, we have decided to share books only through the KEPPO.ORG website due to the COVID-19 situation in California.
책 나눔 행사를 그 동안 기다려주신 많은 분들께 이 자리를 빌어 죄송하다는 말씀 드립니다.
I apologize for the many parents who have been waiting for the book sharing event.
자원봉사자들의 도움을 받아 최대한 많은 책들을 온라인으로 공개하려고 노력 중이지만, 인력 및 시간 관계상 지체될 수 있다는 점 미리 양해 부탁 드립니다.
We are trying to release as many books online as possible with the help of our volunteers, but please understand that we may be delayed due to manpower.
저희가 기증 받은 책 가운데 새 학기가 시작되기 전, 여름방학 동안 KEPPO가족들이 함께 나누면 좋은 책들을 우선적으로 선정하여 업데이트하도록 하겠습니다.
Before the start of the new semester, we have prioritized good books among the books we received to KEPPO families to share during the summer vacation.
무료로 기증받은 책이지만, 한국에서부터의 운송비와 세관비 그리고 창고비가 발생하여, 최소한의 책값이 책정된 점 이해해 주시기 바랍니다.
Please understand the minimum price set on books due to shipping, customs, and storage cost even though these books were donated from Korea.
